| The Consul General
At present, the Philippine Consulate General is awaiting the arrival of a new Consul General. Consul J. Anthony A. Reyes is the Acting Head of the consular mission until the arrival of the new Consul General.
Consul J. Anthony A. Reyes
He holds a degree in BA Journalism from the University of the Philippines and studied in the latter’s MA Broadcasting program. He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in September 2003, and was the Principal Officer for the Northeast Asian Affairs Division (2003 to 2004) and Pacific Affairs Division (2004 to 2005). Previous to his current assignment, he was the Second Secretary and Vice Consul of the Embassy of the Philippines in Koror, Republic of Palau (2005 to 2008).
Prior to joining the DFA, he pursued a career in marketing communications, and has experience in social marketing, public relations, advertising, and corporate communications. He was a writer for Philippine newspapers, magazines, advertising agencies, public relations firms, and television programs. He was a faculty member of the Department of Journalism of the University of the Philippines’ College of Mass Communication and the Department of English of the Ateneo de Manila University.
